Designer vs Deal #6

Hi everyone!

The Designer vs Deal posts are always a favourite with you lovely lot, so here’s another one for you – I promise, it’s a good one! In this month’s post, I included some pieces that have been or are currently quite popular in the blogosphere. As usual, the majority of the dupe items are nearly exactly identical to the designer pieces, with the only difference being the price. This always amazes me!

My favourite piece from these items is definitely the Alexander Wang sandals. As seen on the likes of Rihanna during last year’s X factor performance, this sandals is a classic example of why I love designer dupes. Priced at nearly $700, I can only dream of being able to afford it. Fortunately, Choies are currently stocking a nearly identical sandals. Yes!

I also love the Brian Lichtenberg Feline Meow tee, but I would never spend that much money on a t-shirt. The Ebay tee is a great dupe of it! I included the other two items – the Simone Rocha dress and the Il Branco leggings – since I saw several bloggers styling the leggings and also the Simone Rocha dupe from SheInside.

And for the millionth time, I want to stress that the aim of this post is not to tell you to avoid buying a designer piece and instead purchase it’s affordable dupe, but merely to make you aware that designer dupes are available.

April Wishlist

Hi everyone!

It’s time to share with you my April wishlist. As you can see, a particular colour – lilac – is quite dominant in this wishlist. I don’t know how or why, but I’m currently obsessed with lilac…and unicorns…and flower headbands…and all of them combined. Everything on this wishlist reminds me of Spring and Summer, so I better get as many of these pieces soon since it’s already feeling a lot like Summer in Malta.

1) I’m a Fucking Unicorn vest

The combination of lilac, a Little Pony unicorn and Drop Dead makes me jump up with excitement – literally. I fell in love with this vest as soon as I saw it on the Drop Dead website, and I will do anything to have it in my wardrobe! So pretty!

2) Whole Lotta Rosie Headband

To continue with the whole lilac theme, this rose headband is another gorgeous piece I want – or rather need – from Crown&Glory. What’s not to love?

3) Cupcakelicious tank

This High Heel Suicide cupcake tank is perfect for the hot summer days. The description on their website says that Everybody will want to eat you with this ultralight oversized tank top in off white. I’m up for the challenge

4) Pointed high heels

I don’t know what perfectly defines spring and summer better than this gorgeous floral print high heels! I love its pattern, colours, and pointed toe. Retailing at £45, how can I ever resist it?

5) T-shirt skater dress

This cream skater dress from Fashion Union will be perfect for those summer days when it’s too hot to put together an outfit. This dress comes with rolled-up sleeves and is available in all pretty spring shades, including cream, peach, blue and green.

6) Lavendairy nail polish

There’s not much of an explanation to this nail polish, except that I want pretty lavender nails.

Colour Splash Undies With House of Hollad

We all know how in the neon trend is right now. Personally, it’s not my cup of tea, but Henry Holland recently designed an innovative UV neon underwear collection, and I’m really loving the idea!

House of Holland has conjured up the most daring of delicates in the shape of the Neon collection, both for men and women. Consisting of super cute bralettes and briefs, these pieces glow under UV light! How great is that? This makes them perfect for clubbing and festivals – wear with low-cut summer tees, dungarees, and sheer pieces, and you’re ready to go. Eclectic Eccentricity: Geometrics v.2

A while ago, as I was browsing the Internet instead of doing Uni related work, I came across another jewellery website – Eclectic Eccentricity. For those of you who never heard of this label, EE are an online jewellery boutique specialising in vintage pieces. Here is some background information to put you in the picture:

With a penchant for the pretty, Eclectic Eccentricity’s founder Lucy Crick started scouring antique shops and markets for quaint curios and exquisite gems; piecing them together with other trinkets and treasures found hidden away for years. This is the heart of EE: each and every piece weaves a tale, from it’s individual components, a new story is made…. it’s jewellery with stories to tell….

Following from the success of last year’s Geometric launch, Eclectic Eccentricity have recently released Geometrics v.2, a new collection of bold geometric shapes, fluid lines and sumptuous universe-inspired beads. Think mathematical forms meets tribal accents and vintage flourishes. Perfection! I asked Grace, the lovely person behind EE’s press team, to send me some images of the new collection’s lookbook to be able to share them with you. These are the pieces that mostly caught my eyes:

The Deianira necklace consists of a duo of brass triangles entwined with gold plated chain.

It is then finished with softly tumbled Pyrite beads.

Aria turquoise ring // Marilla lapis lazuli ring // Caelia vintage fire opal ring

The Penelope vintage charm bangle consists of a triplicate of vintage metal base bangles with a bronze, copper and silver patina, completed with golden brass diamonds and a ‘mix and match’ selection of Titanium Quartz, Turquoise or Pyrite bead.

How gorgeous are these pieces? I love them all, but my ultimate favourites are the Callisto multi drop charm necklace and the Marilla lapis lazuli ring.
